READ THE KOUNTRY KNITS & SEWING CENTRE STORY

A Rewarding Vocation

For me, the most rewarding aspect of owning Kountry Knits & Sewing Centre is the interaction with my customers. It is a joy to teach others how to perform a new craft, and I’ve noticed that the under-30 generation is very enthusiastic about learning these skills. I am pleased to have many regular customers that I have met through the shop, and it’s a lot of fun to meet new people and help them to gain new skills.

Involved with the Community

Kountry Knits & Sewing Centre is involved with our community, proudly supporting the efforts of Support Blankets for Canada, as well as other local charities and organizations. On the 3rd Saturday of each month, we have a supply of knitted squares dropped off at the store and a group of volunteers come in and knit them together. We then donate the finished products to shelters in town. We have also donated blankets to the victims of the Slave Lake fire and we sew comfort caps for cancer patients at the Stalery Hospital every year. If you would like more information or want to join us in our efforts, please contact our shop.
